Bria

Meet Bria, a smart, spunky, and energetic pup who’s ready to live her best life! This 58-pound Pointer/Hound mix was born on 9/2/20 and has completed the Leash on Life Prison Pup Program with flying colors. Bria is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all her shots, and is eager to find her forever family!

Bria absolutely loves going on walks, sniffing out critters, and chasing anything that rustles in the bushes or trees. She has a high prey drive, so playing fetch and tug are some of her favorite activities. Her handler says she’s highly intelligent, food-motivated, and always excited to learn new things. Bria has already mastered commands like “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “come,” “no,” “off,” “leave it,” “place,” and more! She walks beautifully on a loose leash and is both kennel and housetrained.

Since completing her training, Bria has even added a few impressive tricks to her repertoire—she can give paw, high five, roll over, speak, and will even perform a backflip off your chest! She responds to both verbal commands and hand gestures, making her a true superstar when it comes to training.

Bria is a confident, alpha female who prefers the company of people over other dogs. She’s dog-reactive, so she’ll do best as the only dominant dog in the household. That said, she could get along with non-aggressive, submissive dogs or younger puppies, as long as introductions are done slowly. Bria loves to chase birds and will even try to climb after them, so she’ll need an active home where she can burn off all her playful energy.

While Bria can play rough, she’s a total sweetheart who loves cuddling up in your lap after a day of fun—any size lap will do! She would thrive in a home with adults or teenagers who understand her need for mental and physical stimulation. Bria also does better meeting strangers when they let her come to them, and a few treats (especially potato chips!) will definitely win her over.

Bria’s handler is a teacher’s assistant in the mornings. She has a place in the room and will occasionally roam around the classroom to get pets from the students. She’s always eager to make new friends, both two-legged and four-legged, with the right approach.

If you’re looking for an energetic, loyal companion who’s as smart as she is playful, Bria could be the perfect match for you! Could you be the one to give Bria the loving home she deserves?

Training Update 2/25: Bria plays with a select few of the other pups daily. She is an adventurous eater (grass, dirt, etc.), so they have been working to prevent that. They do 10-20 minutes of command conditioning daily to keep her commands relevant.
