The importance of cat and dog spay and neuter, access to those services at the HSMC location, and the Spay and Neuter Voucher program.
The role of the Trap Neuter and Return (TNR) program for Community Cats.
Community services such as: animal rescue, Community Pet Food Bank, and Vaccine Clinic.
How we fund the HSMC with support from the community and can recycling program.
The proper care of animals including information on vaccinations, nutrition, and the importance of exercise for pets.
A PreK Reading Buddies Program in conjunction with the McCormick Library where students hear a humane education story and have an animal experience.
A Middle School Reading Buddies Program where students visit the Cat Haven to read to cats.
Student volunteer opportunities at HSMC.
Beginning in 2024 a civic service opportunity will be available to students 11 and older to attend a Day of Service (DOS) at HSMC and connect with their community.
On the DOS, HSMC will provide comprehensive information to the students about the care of animals and engage them in completing shelter tasks and activities.
These activities will include reading to the animals, caring for animals, and making animal toys.
